When Shabby Chic and Minecraft Meet...

I never imagined our white farmhouse style home would be filled with pixelated swords, creepers and Steve (not to mention TNT!) from the Minecraft video game.

But our just-turned nine-year-old son, Noah, was so excited to have a Minecraft party that I found myself really getting into it. The delighted look in his eyes when he saw the Minecraft decorations, was worth every bit of effort! ;)

We made Minecraft swords for favors using the DIY and printables found here. Noah and I thought this was the BEST idea... until I got to sword number three and realized I had about twelve to go! A little time-consuming, but doable.

I used our burlap tablecloth for the "dirt" and ordered
an inexpensive "grass" tablecloth from Amazon.

The Minecraft balloons can be found on Etsy and
I ordered the Steve box head on Amazon.

Licorice "TNT" bundles were a hit with the kids!

The food we chose was selected from the
food items featured in the video game.

My Mom baked and decorated this very special
cake for Noah. Look at all of those fondant tiles!

After a Minecraft scavenger hunt and lots of running outdoors,
some of the kids enjoyed making their own pearler bead creations.

We have fun memories from the TNT piƱata in the barn. Lots of boys + lots of candy = dog pile! Thankfully, no injuries... just lots of laughs...

Creeper Archery (made from green styrofoam blocks from the Dollar Tree)...

And a new twist on an old game - Pin the Tail on the Pig...

We made a "Creeper Ball" court in the barn (our version of ga-ga ball :)

A Dollar Tree basket, turned creeper, with some black felt.

Happy birthday sweet, funny Noah! You bring sunshine to our family every day.
I'm SO thankful God gave us you...

Thank you for stopping by ... still confused by Minecraft? Me to. :)
