Farmhouse Style: A little touch of pink...

With a house full of boys, it's nice to have a little touch of pink. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't change those dirty feet, booming voices, basketball dribbling, bear-hugging  boys for anything! But still, the splash of pink that peonies from the garden bring is a refreshing sight this time of year...

It was a nice surprise, as I came downstairs early this morning, to smell such a beautiful scent (let's just say that with two dogs, that's not always the case!).

In our home, and at this stage, you'll find flowers on the family room coffee table when I'm taking pictures or when company is coming over. They would never last here long-term... this room gets too much action. ;)

So I moved the peonies to the kitchen counter, out of harm's way...

 I love how you can cut peonies while the blooms are still in tight "balls" and they will open up so beautifully.
