~ Pallet Flag and DIY Baseball Field ~

We are busy bees over here, getting ready for our youngest son's 6th birthday celebration. He requested a baseball party and has been counting down the days!

My sister made us the coolest pallet flag to add to our field - - 'cause every baseball field needs a flag! It will also be fun to use for the Fourth of July...

Using a large piece of wood I found in the barn, I made this chalkboard score board, by simply rolling on chalkboard paint.

My husband and our oldest son painted the baselines. 

They used this prodcut...

We moved our fire pit benches over to the sidelines for the dugouts. ;)

We purchased this portable backstop from a sporting goods store and secured it with tent stakes.

Here's a view of the field from our bedroom window...

We're looking forward to filling the field with little baseball players.

Craving Cozy...

When the weather grows colder and the days become shorter,

more time is spent indoors and we all seem to crave the coziness of home!

I thought I'd share a few things from our home that have 

helped it feel warm and festive during this holiday season. 

(These items also show that decorating doesn't have to break the bank!)

I love these little wreaths from Trader Joe's! The "ribbon" is torn drop cloth material.

This fabric garland is made from burlap, lace and muslin strips.

We strung up a collection of cookie cutters with twine in our kitchen windows. 

I found these paint-by-number deer artwork recently at an antique store in Sand Point, Idaho. They add a rustic, woodsy feel to our family room shelves.

I picked up this wood basket at a thrift store for just a few dollars. The little tree was free with purchase of the bigger Christmas tree we cut down. I made the pom garland in the car on the way home from Thanksgiving. Doesn't everyone travel with craft scissors and large amounts of yarn?? 

This is a chalkboard print I found here for free. 

I had it enlarged at a local copy center for about $5 or $6 dollars.

My sister made me this adorable sweater pillow. 

She also stamped this sweet canvas sign in barn wood frame. 

Hooray for a crafty sister and hooray for a December birthday! 

I am forever grateful that Love was born in a barn… 

It reminds me of something I just read that I think you'd enjoy too!

A dear friend sent me this personalized ornament made by Timree.
