They Came As Campers… Left As Glampers!

It was in the 90's today and is forecasted to continue for at least the next few days. It's a heat wave here in the Pacific Northwest! (Before you call us lightweights, remember that very few people here have air conditioning! Us included.

You won't hear me complaining… bring on the sunshine! :)

Aaron's parents came for a visit this past week and brought their camper. It was fun to see the pasture used as a campground. (One more thing we couldn't have done at our last house... It would've been in our neighbor's driveway!)

One day when they left to take our oldest boys to a movie, Lincoln (5) helped me decorate it. He hung his paintings inside the camper and I "glamped" out the exterior.

I think my father-in-law especially liked the makeover (kidding)!

They pulled out this morning and there is a sad little empty place where they once parked. We had fun visiting them in their mobile "living room" and them visiting us at our place. Happy trails neighbors (a.k.a. Grandma & Grandpa!)

Have a great weekend and keep it glam happy campers! ;)

Anyone headed on an adventure?

Let's Go Glamping!

"Glamping" - also known as glamorous camping - is something I think I could get into. It's for people who enjoy the outdoors but also like to have some comforts of home within reach. And okay, I'll be honest, one of those vintage trailers would be super fun to decorate - would it not?!

My husband is more of a purest when it comes to camping. I don't think he would "get" the idea of glamping. That's why I plan to ease him into it over time…

For example, I might say something like, "Have you seen those cute retro trailers that some people are re-doing?" Or, "I know how much you and the boys enjoy camping. Wouldn't it be fun to have some additional space beyond the tent, as the boys grow bigger?"

Hopefully then he'll take his cue and ask me what I have in mind...

That's when I'll show him these!

Let's go glamping! Adventure awaits.

So what d'ya say? Glamping - yea or nay?
