A Farmhouse Christmas Vignette...

Last week, I wrote about how we were going to leave our dining room decorated for fall until Thanksgiving. The rest of the house we would begin decorating for Christmas, little by little, to alleviate some of the December hustle and have more time to enjoy the season together. Well, at this rate, we may not be all that early when we finish! :)

But, we have started! We began with a vignette in our front entryway...

My friend, Renee, and I had the best time at a vintage market last weekend. Have you heard of the term "junk drunk?" I'm pretty sure we lived it, as we laughed our way out to the truck, our arms full of the best finds.

One of my favorites from the show is this handmade Christmas Trees sign.

We were given the tractor seat. I just love the farmhouse symbolism along with the pop of red for the holidays.

So it's beginning to feel a little like Christmas over here.

It's got to be my favorite time of the year to decorate our home! There's so much joy and excitement in the air... I guess we're just trying to prolong it by starting early.

Have you begun decorating or planning for the holidays this year? What do you enjoy most? Do you keep your holiday decor the same each year, or do you like to mix it up?

 I'd love to hear!

And if you'd like to see more of how we're getting ready for Christmas over here, I hope you'll join me on Instagram.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!

  2. What a wonderful, rustic Christmas vignette! I love your new sign and the pom poms on your antlers are darling! I've been thinking of starting my decorating earlier this year too. It is stressful to put it all out at once.

  6. Love the vignette. The basket with the tree in it gave me an idea of what to do with a basket I was going to donate.

  7. This makes me smile!

What I enjoy most about Christmas is the puttering around the house in the days and weeks after we put up our tree... Over the years I've discovered it's the creating that makes Christmas more meaningful for me. If I were to stop and analyze it, I'd have to acknowledge that it's the time involved. It's hard not to meditate on the season when you're sitting in a chair, gluing button trees together or sewing ornaments or stuffing a pillow or painting or drawing or even wrapping packages...
