It's still dark outside, the sun has yet to come up. It's quiet in our home, except for the soft patter of rain on the roof. Soon I will start peeling the sweet potatoes, and looking over recipes. I'll try to figure out how to time more casseroles and side dishes in one day than we typically have in a week.
I took this picture of our three sons, standing on the fence, on Thanksgiving day, three years ago. We had just moved into our little farmstead the week before.
Not long after moving in, I began this blog. I began to write and take pictures, wanting to capture an exciting new chapter for our family. Our prayers for a little farmstead had been answered. Our boys had room to run and explore. We were able to get them their long-hoped-for dog... (We now have two dogs, three cats, six chickens and a rabbit. :)
I have been blessed with a creative outlet in decorating our farmhouse, and have found in you... kindred spirits. You understand the joy of nesting, the art of styling, and the satisfaction of completing a DIY project, however small it might be.
Thank you for reading. I am grateful for your ideas and words of encouragement. I love hearing what you're up to, and consider you friends, though most of us have yet to meet in-person. Thank you for sharing in this journey with me.
It wouldn't be the same without you.
