An Entryway Arbor...


The arbor in the front of our house, that helps define the entrance, 
is now covered in spring-green vines... 



One of my favorite plants - the lilac - is in full-bloom near the arbor...


There's a touch of wisteria (though it grows more prolific in other areas of the yard). 


A simple stone path leads from the arbor to the front porch...




We added some strands of lights to the arbor to provide some much needed light out front. Some day, we'd love to add some built-in lighting... 


It's always amazing how quickly things grow! The first picture in this post was taken about ten days ago. If you compare it to the picture below, taken today, you can see such a change in the tree, vines and lilacs...


We've been enjoying the sunshine today... Our youngest and I took a blanket out on the grass and enjoyed a library book together (until our crazy cat started showing off his daredevil climbing skills in the tree above...tough competition when you're trying to read a book to a 5-year-old boy! ;).

    Lilacs are one of my favorites too. I'm still waiting for my lilac bushes to get with the program and bloom! :-) The lighting is a lovely touch--it makes everything looks so warm and inviting.

    I love lilacs. A few small cuttings can fill the whole house with there sweet scent. Your arbor is beautiful and I love the lights. So pretty.

    How pretty! I love arbors with vines crawling over them. We used to have one but a storm knocked it down and broke it. I love the lights you added to it! I'm jealous of your pretty lilacs and wisteria.

    Gorgeous! Do you happen to have the plans for your arbor? I'm wanting to put an arbor to the entrance of my backyard, and yours would be perfect.
