Hi Friends ~ I hope you're doing well and enjoying the last full month of spring! Today, I wanted to share a very simple, quick, and budget-friendly way to freshen up your entryway...
While I sometimes use a small bench in this space, a simple wood chair (the more aged character, the better in my opinion!) works well too. Yard sale season is now here, so keep your eyes open for one-of-a-kind accent chairs that don't take up a lot of space, and can be used in vignettes and for extra seating.
Next, clip whatever is blooming outdoors, or simply fill a large mason jar with greenery from your yard. I cut a little bundle of white lilacs from our property.
Between the stairway railing, flooring, and chair, there is a lot of wood in our entryway. I wanted to soften the feel just a bit, so I added a striped linen tea towel for a lived-in, farmhouse look.
I love the texture the large French market basket adds, plus it's near the doorway and ready to be filled and used as needed. We currently have this style of market basket, plus several others, in our space inside of M & M Antiques in Monroe, Washington (just in case you're a local!).
The black and white photo gallery wall is something I did several years ago. It remains one of my favorite home projects to date, and keeps cherished family memories fresh in our minds.
I hope this simple spring /summer entryway is a reminder that it doesn't take much to bring a little fresh life into a space!
