Pictures from Home... A Little Piece of Country

Happy Friday!

Just stopping in with a few pictures from home.
Spring has a beauty and wonder all its own...

The wisteria on our back porch arbor... Those are the kitchen windows, making this the best time of year to have to wash dishes. ;)

The other day I caught the sun setting out of our bedroom window, with the neighbor's horses grazing in the background...

We "met" the neighbor's cows for the first time. (They don't usually graze that close to our property.) Our boys and I loved seeing them right by our fence. It really felt like country living!

My very favorite spring scene - our boys playing in the "baseball field" their dad mowed them. Just love it when they race around the house and porch collecting their gloves, balls and bats... and hurrying to get outside. (Okay, I love this for several reasons, but MAINLY because they're enjoying playing together at home! ;) Sometimes their Dad or I pitch to them, other times it's just the brothers (and their dog).

We're hoping to plant our vegetable garden this weekend. Noah (9) helped me move our rabbit out to the garden beds in hopes he would help us clear some of the major overgrowth we've got going on. Four words... he is no goat.

Please send help. ;) Our poor bunny is overwhelmed.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  2. Hi Julie! Your bunny is adorable ! Your too funny with the comment! Ha! Great pics! How are your chicks! Mine are doing great! They grew sooo fast! They have all their feathers and there combs are growing! Love to watch them scratch around in their run! Too funny! I put a bed of straw down to cover the dirt and they love scratching it! I rode a horse today that I might buy! She is a beautiful paint! I have to say I was intimidated though! Not so experienced and I was lacking confidence! Well , probably have to keep riding and as they say Get back in the saddle again! Ha! Take care! Glad your boys are having a blast! Talk soon! Cindy from my Idaho farm!

  5. I love seeing kids playing freely outside, it's such a rare site anymore.

When my son was 9 (he's 22) he hand painted a football field in our front yard. He got a yardstick & measured off the yards, I think he painted 40 yards! That whole summer he & the neighborhood kids played on it. Such fun memories!

  8. I so love the wisteria on the porch...we had wisteria but it got so invasive and actually was choking the life out of one of our trees that we had to cut it down....we eventually called it "hysteria"....however, I so love the beauty of it....cute bunny and love the pic of the boys playing baseball...

  9. Oh the wisteria is gorgeous! I don't think it grows as well here.
    Our climate is much colder.
Cute wee bunny...country living is the best!
