What a full week! Are you looking forward to the weekend as much as I am?
(Hope so!)
We've been having a heatwave here in the Seattle area, which has felt like a mini summer! We've spent more time outdoors... our boys playing, taking our dog and new puppy out, and enjoying nature blooming all around us.
One type of flower that I look forward to all year is the lilac.
They are so fragrant and, to me, epitomize farmhouse charm!
I love using simple containers for vases, like this
gallon glass jar and white ironstone pitcher...
Here you can see one of our lilac bushes, to the right
of the entry arbor, in its natural habitat. ;)
The clouds and drizzle moved back in this afternoon, so I am especially grateful to have these fresh blooms inside to enjoy...
I hope you have a wonderful spring weekend, whether skies are sunny or gray...
I'd love to hear what you're up to!
So pretty... and I love love love that serving board. .... when I saw your big glass jar I thought of how my mom used to make a big jar of iced tea, pop a grocery bag full of popcorn and off to the drive-in movie our family would go.. you will die when I say how long ago... at least 50 years!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet memory! Sounds like so much fun. :) Thank you for sharing!

I cut lilac to bring into my home, but the cuttings usually only last a day before they start to wilt. Do you have any secrets to prolong their wilting?
ReplyDeleteWow so lovely.
