Hi Friends ~ I hope your day is going well! I'm excited to be sharing our middle son Noah's bedroom makeover with you today. The tradition at our house, is that when our boys turn 12, they get a new, bigger (full size) bed and bedroom makeover. While I have a lot of weaknesses (old doors, chairs, pillows, etc.), bedding is not one of them. I tend to find something I really like, and may pay a little more for it, but I stick with it. Prior to this room update, Noah had had the same bedding for about seven years. It was time!
Some product was received in exchange for promotion. Some affiliate links are provided.
The first thing Noah and I spotted for his room was the RH Teen Pendleton San Miguel blanket. It is heirloom-quality and something I hope he'll keep for a long time. He and I both really liked the design, and that it's reversible - one side has the off-white background and the other side is charcoal.
I found Janice, shop owner of FilbertFashions, who makes Pendleton throw pillow covers - and all kinds of Pendleton products. She happens to live in the same tiny town that my husband was born in - Madras, Oregon. (I thought that was pretty cool!) We bought the coordinating pillow from her.
I wanted a vintage industrial light to give the room a little more character. The Scout Flush-Mount Ceiling Light in English Bronze finish is exactly what I had in mind! (Don't you love it when that happens?!)
We like the light from House of Antique Hardware so much that we plan to order it in the satin nickel finish for our older son's room.
On the other side of the room, we brought in a dresser and cubbies for books, lego creations and other keepsakes. Noah enjoys drawing and was drawn to the buffalo art work. (And I love how it coordinates so well with his bedding, don't you think? ;)
All three of our boys enjoy playing basketball. This mostly-decorative hoop was too fun to pass up at Hobby Lobby...
The reclaimed wood headboard was made locally. I added some texture through pillows that include: wool, velvet, cotton, and knit...
The marquee letter we found here.
So that's a wrap! I can't believe that two of our boys have already hit the 12-year-old bedroom makeover milestone. One more to go (in a few more years - it goes too fast!).
I'm happy that Noah is happy with his "new" room. It's amazing just how big the room feels with some furniture repositioning - oh, and some organizing and storing of the bazillion legos in the closet! Lol.
I wish I could've captured the view from Noah's room - it's a roofline view of the house, barn and chicken coop.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Lucky Noah! This room is amazing. My favorite features; the bedding, the dresser with the basketball hoop, the light fixture.... I love everything about this room. Good job, Julie!
ReplyDeleteAhhh, thanks so much!
DeleteAha! What a lovely looking you gifted for your Noah. Surely he is lucky enough to enjoy such eye-pleasing well furnished room. The Pendleton throw pillow covers, organic cotton sheet sets over bed (perhaps), light fixture, Buffalo art work, rugs all the items made the room really very decent and great looking. Love your makeover ideas.
