Visiting The Cotswolds...

A few weeks ago, our little family of five traveled to Sweden (see that post here), and then from Stockholm, on to London, England. We loved exploring the city for a few days, and then journeyed out into the English countryside. We visited stunning Oxford with all its amazing history and architecture, the home of one of our family's favorite authors - C.S. Lewis, and then made our way to the village of Bibury in the Cotswolds...

It's just as picturesque as I'd imagined! We sort of felt like we were walking along in a fairytale! There were sheep grazing on the hills, quiet charming towns, dreamy stone cottages, and the most beautiful gardens. We were blessed with the most amazing weather, and agreed that if we had to, we could live here.

William Morris, the English textile designer, poet and novelist, described Bibury as "the most beautiful village in England."

We had to peek inside the ivy-clad Swan Hotel (below). It's full of character, and we liked to tell ourselves we'd be back someday.

There's a neat trout farm where our boys were hoping to fish, but unfortunately it was closed because local schools were still in session. Another reason to return! ;)

It was such a beautiful day we'll never forget!

We didn't want the day to end, and we were feeling adventurous. So, instead of driving back to our London flat, we drove on to Wales!

We explored a castle...

And ate a late dinner at the most charming, old, Welsh restaurant...

Have you been to the Cotswolds or to Wales? What was your favorite place to visit or your best memory? I'd love to hear!

Thank you for stopping by today,

Xo

  5. I came across an amazing blog post about visiting the Cotswolds, and it reminded me of the joy we find in playing games. Just like exploring the picturesque villages, playing sigma game download, your favorite game, enhances problem-solving skills and offers memorable adventures. Let's discuss your experiences and how gaming impacts your mindset!
