It's that time of year when I start getting home and garden A.D.D.
More than usual.
I'll weed the flower beds!
I'll plank above the fireplace...
I'll clean off the back porch!
I'll go through all of my kids' drawers and closets.
And then, reality comes knocking at my front door...
My children are hungry.
The laundry has piled up.
Baseball season has started.
When is the last time I vacuumed?
The chickens need clean water and we're still missing a hamster (you can't make these things up).
I'll just put some flowering branches in a pitcher and call it good...
Can you relate? Tell me you can (even if you can't).
The only thing I've gotten to so far is weeding out two of our boys' drawers.
I didn't think you'd be too interested in seeing pictures of that.
Instead, I thought I'd show you how happy our chickens look in the spring sunshine...
So happy, that they are laying eggs like nobody's business.
And while I can't really pass off our cherry blossom trees blooming as a DIY, they are prettier than anything my two hands could create...
The upside of the downside of all that laundry is what is happening outside our laundry room window...
And with these amazing blooms off the porch (for which I can take no credit), who, besides me, will really notice the mountain of abandoned toys and miscellaneous gardening equipment on the porch?
In the words of a very popular Disney movie, sometimes you just have to, "Let it go! Let it go! Can't hold it back any more..."
I hope you had a blessed Easter weekend. For those of you who follow along on Instagram and were wondering (thank you!), this bunny surprise happened yesterday...
I'm enjoying watching them enjoying their new little chocolate bunny. ;)
Thanks so much for stopping by today.
Do you get A.D.D. in spring too? What kinds of things are on your list? Some bunny wants to know. ;)
Oh my goodness! I love your sweet new bunny rabbit! He's so adorable. you're the second blogger I know to have a pet rabbit for her kids. That's a great Easter present! My neighbors just got some new baby chicks to replace the hens that got attacked. I'm thinking about going over there and holding one. They are so cute. I love your pretty flowers everywhere. Spring has definitely sprung at your house. Yes, I get side tracked easily this time of year too. It's hard to choose what to do when you'd rather be outside enjoying the nice weather.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kelly! He is a sweet little guy and the boys are excited to have him. :) You should definitely go hold those chicks! (And maybe get a few yourself!)
DeleteOh Julie what a sweet little bunny. Too cute. Love to see your chickens too. I wish I could live where I could have some chickens. Love seeing Spring in your pretty farmhouse. Have a great week.

So nice to hear from you Kris! I hope you can have chickens some day too... they are pretty easy to care for and fun to have. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteWell, I don't have kids and their stuff around anymore, but I still have a mess and am behind on the laundry and ironing and I haven't touched the yard yet, but hubby has cut it a couple times. It's usually my job. So much to do....and your little bunny is so cute!
ReplyDeleteI hear you Kim! These are full days... whatever stage of life, we tend to fill the days, don't we?! Always more to do than 24 hours will allow. I think we're all trying to find "balance" and we do our best. It changes day to day. If you ever feel like you need to slow down time, may I recommend taking in a pony or little league baseball game? It makes it feel like time has stopped. Haha
DeleteYes Julie,
ReplyDeleteI get a.d.d at spring, but come to think of it I get it year around. One thing at a time and you will soon be ready for Summer A.d.d :)
Everything here feels like spring has arrived, the chicken out to play, sweet baby bunny love, blooms on your trees, and full steam ahead on your sorting and spring cleaning.
Keep inspiring us all with your beautiful little grand farmstead.
Xx
Happy Spring

Gorgeous photos of your spring blossoms in your pretty room! Happy springtime!
ReplyDeleteLove your new bunny! They make the BEST pets! We have an indoor mini Rex bunny. We do not give her the run of the house, she has a bunny condo in the laundry room. They like to chew on furniture legs! You will find they have personalities and are a lot of fun! Your boys will really love it!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
The blooms on your trees are so beautiful....I can see why you get so easily distracted with so much beauty around you! Your new little bunny is just the cutest thing ever!!!
