Farmhouse Flowers: Beyond the Vase...

We are in the May trenches over here.

You too?

It feels even busier than December! Projects, performances, parties and field trips are all vying for their last hurrah of the school year. And not a one wants to be outdone.

Seriously.

But these are good days... And we can do this.

So I'm sticking to something short and sweet today that can
add a little burst of "happy" to the house...

Flowers! I cut some peonies from the garden and gathered some greenery. It's fun to think "outside the vase." Humble farmhouse containers can add interest to any arrangement. I recently found this old De Luxe mop bucket at a thrift shop.

I love its aged patina.

The mop bucket holds flowers upright with the extra wooden bar along the back.
(It's like it was made to hold flowers! :)

Have you seen this month's issue of Country Living yet? In the back of the magazine, they feature a beautiful floral arrangement in a pair of cowboy boots.

I knew I would have to try. It wasn't even an option...

What are some of your favorite containers to use instead of vases?  How have you been mixing it up these days? I always love hearing from you.

Thank you for stopping by!

Xo
