Hi Friends! This past weekend, I hosted a small Mother's Day lunch for my mom, sister, aunts and cousin. I thought I'd share the simple farmhouse-style favor I used that is especially fitting as as we head into the summer months...

I love wood berry baskets for their natural look. The ones I found came with a lid to help keep the contents fresh.
First, I cut two long strips of parchment paper the width of the basket, and overlapped them inside the basket. The parchment paper not only keeps the food inside fresher, but allows your guests to re-use the cute berry baskets. ;)
Next, I placed two large triangle-shaped lemon bars inside.
Then, I folded each of the four sides of parchment paper over the lemon bars, pressed the clear cover on top, tied with twine, and added a sprig of rosemary.
I used Ina Garten's lemon bar recipe, with its shortbread crust and fresh lemon juice. (yum)
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
I have been saving berry baskets for years they are now getting hard to fnd
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute idea! And lemon bars, yum! I love those hand forged scissors, where did you get them? Hope your Mother's Day celebration was grand!
