A Charming Old Farmhouse Door {bringing cheer to the laundry room!}

We recently picked up two weathered white wood farmhouse doors. The lady we purchased them from told us that the doors were saved from the old farmhouse where she grew up. This particular door lead out to their barn...

Don't you love pieces with a story?

All of the original hardware is intack.

I'm thankful there are so many windows in our
laundry/mud room… and lots of counter space for folding!

The burlap sack below hides the electric panel...

The little vintage, hand-made oven shows that this room does double-duty as a playroom. Two of the large pull-out drawers house toys and train tracks.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you are having a wonderful day!

  1. Love your door. It's so fun to use wonderful architecturals around the home...especially ones with a great story.

  2. I love your laundry room! It looks so bright and airy--I could handle doing laundry in a pretty spot like that. Mine is in the basement--I often feel banished to the dungeon! Ha

    That door is a terrific find! That wire basket with hydrangeas is the perfect touch.

    1. Oh, ha ha - I'm sorry you've been banished! :) I think it depends where you live - we don't have as many basements in the Seattle-area! But at our last house, we had a very small laundry room with door that lead out to the garage. Every time you opened the dryer door, you took your life in your hands if someone was coming in through the garage! :)

    1. Thank you Amy! Very sweet of you. It's the first time I've had a large laundry room - those counters are usually piled with laundry! :)
