Spring Decorating {Fragrance}

Ahhh, those first smells of spring!

Has spring arrived where you live? The other morning, I took our dog out to the happy sounds of birds chirping. There was a new smell in the air - the fragrance of spring!

Bringing that spring scent indoors really adds to experiencing the season more fully day-to-day.

I clipped a couple of flower branches and added some very fragrant jasmine to the simple bouquet. It gives our whole family room a light, fresh scent of spring! Even our boys have noticed... "Mom, that smells really good!" :)

Here is the "giant" jasmine that grows up the side of our porch...

If you don't have jasmine, hyacinth also smells wonderful. As you may already know, you can purchase hyacinth plants or the cut version at most grocery stores.

Are you bringing touches of the outdoors in?
What is your favorite scent of spring?

I'd love to hear!

Thank you for stopping by...

  1. We don't have jasmine or hyacinths, but can't wait for the honeysuckle to bloom.

  2. I am purchasing a Jasmine bush this year but I'm not sure where to place it because I see it can be quite intrusive and I live in a townhouse community. I do have a private backyard and small flower beds out front but I can't allow it to get to large. Love the fragrance of spring.

    1. Your backyard will smell SO good with jasmine! I'm sure you can just prune it back to prevent it from taking over. I've never seen such a large jasmine plant - but I love that you can smell it walking by! We just have to make sure it doesn't climb onto the roof. :)

  3. I've been buying tulips at the grocery store each week now for the last month. I love fresh flowers. Nothing blooming here yet but my daffodils are out of the ground and temps are to reach the 50s today. They are calling for snow showers on Monday though. I'm keeping my hopes up that we will get a real spring soon. Your table arrangement is beautiful. Thanks for sharing it.

  5. The scents are smelt way over here, and your home is country farmhouse beautiful. I want to soften my look with a rustic farm fill like you have achieved here, with all things French Farmhouse.

  6. I would love to add some jasmine. My mom always had it climbing up the wall of her entryway at her house in Arizona. The minute anyone entered the courtyard they would be greeted by the most lovely and lingering fragrance. Hope to plant some here in Texas. Thanks for reminding me!
