An Indoor Garden Party & Spring Table Setting

This past week, we celebrated my (amazing!) Mom's birthday at both my sister's and our home. It was a milestone birthday (though she requested I not share the exact mile ;), so we tried to make it special.

My Mom's sister (my Aunt) surprised her by coming from Florida...which made for a very "happy-tears" kind of reunion. Our kids and their cousins had a couple of days off of school so they were able to celebrate with us!

The day we hosted lunch at our house was the first official day of spring. These little nest favors and vintage-inspired mini cake stands were at the adults' place settings.

Although the weather was only partly cooperating, I hoped the dining room lunch would feel like a garden party. I found the vintage-inspired floral paper runner at Michaels. It, along with the hanging paper flowers, were part of their "Paris in Springtime" line of party products.

A little easel at the birthday girl's place...

Our Mom is the wind (and sometimes the tornado - she's got a lot of energy! :) beneath our family's wings! It was a special time to celebrate all that she means to us...

Thank you for sharing in this special memory with me.

Have a blessed day!

  3. What a beautiful table setting for your mom's birthday celebration. Happy Birthday to her! I love the Spring color you added to the white and burlap table covering. The colorful pompoms are so festive. Your faux cake centerpiece has become your trademark for these special gatherings too. Love it!

  6. Your lavish and feminine Birthday table setting and party reminds me of the settings my Grandmother talked about when she was a Victorian child at home. I love this attention to detail. It speaks of how important your mother is to all of you.

    1. Oh I loved hearing about your Grandmother as a Victorian child at home. Thank you for sharing sweet memories - - and a feeling of nostalgia! I often feel "homesick" for what I imagine life was like in simpler times. Don't get me wrong, I'm incredibly grateful and happy with my life and family... it just sometimes seems the world has gone a little crazy!

    1. Kind of ironic, but the birthday girl (mom) made that for me last year! :) Just shows what kind of mom she is... she made it custom for our table size... thanks so much for stopping by! Hope your week is going well! :)
