There's something about these delicate boxwood wreaths that makes me dream of a Scandinavian Christmas.
Maybe they remind me of the wreaths that are worn on Saint Lucia Day in Sweden...
Or maybe it's their understated, almost minimalist size that gives these wreaths a Nordic feel...
Whatever it is, we're enjoying their fresh, lightweight look in our kitchen this Christmas season!

If you have access to a boxwood shrub,
a pair of scissors,
floral wire,
and about ten minutes to spare...
Your Nordic-inspired wreath can quickly become a reality!
Here's what you do:
1. Cut several sprigs of boxwood.
2. Begin wrapping the boxwood clippings around the wreath, one at a time, securing them with floral wire as you go.
3. Continue until you have covered the embroidery hoop.
4. Using your twine, string or ribbon, hang your wreath.
Enjoy!
That's got to be one of the easiest wreaths, ever!
I'm so glad you stopped by today.
I hope that your week is off to a really good start...

Sometimes those simple projects offer a lot of impact. They are sweetly serene and look lovely in your windows. My husband cut down FOUR HUGE BOXWOODS and toted them off to the landfill. I wanted to leave him there with them. I could not believe he did that. Now I have NO boxwoods left! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteOh NO!!! I'm sorry about that - - just think of how many wreaths you could've made, not to mention just enjoying your boxwoods! But thank you for the laugh... you "wanted to leave him there with them." :) At least with four large ones, he could have built himself a shelter...

Perfect. So simple yet it makes the windows look so special.
ReplyDeleteI really love these, Julie. I even have all of the supplies to make them except the embroidery hoops - I may have to run out and get some today!
ReplyDeleteI made some wire wreaths and hung them on my armoire. Now I guess I need to find some boxwood to embellish them.
ReplyDeleteI love these wreaths...just enough greenery to make an elegant statement!
