Two Years Later... A Before & After Tour

Two years ago this week, we moved here to our little farmstead. We are so thankful for the opportunity to raise our children with room to roam. We've enjoyed our little piece of country living (just past the city limits) and look forward to making many more memories together here!

I thought it would be fun to see how our home has changed over the past two years. Many of the "before" pictures were taken when the house was for sale.

Full disclosure: While we are happy with the interior changes, I will say that when we moved in, the grounds and the barn were immaculate. Now... not so much. ;) There are only so many hours! Plus, this ensures we will continue to have home projects to work on in the coming years... (as if that were ever a concern).

Here we go!

Almost All of the changes in our home have been done on a small budget, mostly involving paint. This coming year, I hope to tackle more of the upstairs (bedrooms). In the future, I dream of transforming the hayloft in the barn to a recreation room for our kids and their friends (we can all dream, right?!).

Grateful you've been a part of this journey.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend,

Xo

  1. Wow! What a difference you have made in that house! I adore how you've decorated it and styled it compared to how it was when someone else lived there. you made it light and airy and comfortable looking with lots of style. It was good that you were able to see past what was there and what it could look like.

    1. Thank you so much Kelly. The before pictures weren't taken in the best light, but we could tell right away we'd be blessed to call this place home! We were actually thankful that the kitchen hadn't been redone or else someone else may have beat us to this home. :) It's amazing what lightening up a space can do. Paint, a little elbow grease and some lighter neutral furniture made a big difference. Hope you have a great weekend!

  4. It feels like yesterday, and it's been an inspiring journey.
I did not realize you had this extra living room space, and the wonderful farmhouse flow your home has.
It's going to be a polished farmhouse Christmas here, it must feel great to look around and feel like it's all done, even if it's not, it appears to be from our view.

A beautiful Giving of Thanks to you and your family.

    1. Thank you Dore. I went back and changed a few labels where I had called our family room the "living room." But yes, there are two living areas. I look forward to seeing your home for Christmas!!
