My husband and I recently enjoyed a romantic date to... IKEA.
As we dined in the cafeteria (do you love lingonberry as much as I do?!), we pondered deep thoughts such as, "Do you think the CEO of IKEA (one of the wealthiest men in the world) has IKEA furniture in his house?"
After finishing our free lunch (thanks to the current promotion - free lunch with $100 purchase), it's only fitting that I found inspiration in the kitchen and dining area...
I've been looking for ways to incorporate some natural (raw) wood elements into our white dining room. So, when we spotted these PROPPMÄTT chopping boards, I thought they might work well as chargers, or placemats, on our white farmhouse-style table. They also checked the box for durability (I'm a 3-boy-mom!).
We picked up these lovely grain sack-inspired napkins...(IKEA, who knew?!)
And added a few sprigs of rosemary...
The chopping boards had varying finishes... we dug for the ones with lighter shades of wood. I guess this is one benefit of shopping in-person, rather than online. They also came in slightly darker shades, with reddish undertones. Same product, different lots.
It was a good day. Quality time with my husband (you guys, it was!) and a simple, durable farmhouse table setting.
Thank you for stopping by!
(Now what do you think about the IKEA CEO having IKEA furnishings??)
Well if he's smart, he would. Good advertising for him. I love IKEA. But OK does not have one...

The cutting boards as placemats are a great idea! Your table looks amazing.

Love is table you put together, especially those cute napkins!
ReplyDeleteI love your new finds! I haven't been to Ikea is a long time. I keep meaning to go. That is a great question about the CEO. I kind of doubt that he has the furniture but if he did, then I bet he has multiple sets of it to replace it as needed. Ha!
ReplyDeleteI did not know Ikea had those napkins. Gotta get me some. I know about those date nights. We say it isn't a date unless we've been to Home Depot first. Nice post.
