Technically, there's still one more day of August.
So let me explain...
The weather has cooled off, some of our leaves here in the Pacific Northwest are already changing colors, and our three sons went back to school today.
For the first time in 12 years, all of our children are in school full-day. It's been emotional for this mama. Even though our youngest was ready, not having a sidekick at home takes some getting used to...
Making caramel apples for an after-the-first-day-of-school-snack just felt right. It felt more right than cleaning the bathrooms, which I've successfully put off until tomorrow.
The fact that it started feeling like fall today,
made starting school just a little easier for our boys.
A basket of apples from our tree is now our dining room centerpiece...
Hope you are having a wonderful fall-ish sort of day!

It definitely looks like Fall at your house. Those candied apples with real branches in them are darling! I wish it was feeling and looking more Fall-like here in GA, but not yet. I will just visit your blog more often so I can pretend it's Fall here.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kelly! I'd love that. :) Hard to say goodbye to summer here, but the weather is forcing us in that direction...might as well make the best of it!
DeleteSo cute Julie! Fall is my favorite time to decorate the farm !
ReplyDeleteThanks Cindy! I was just thinking about you the other day. :) Hope you, your family and farm are doing well!
