Farmhouse Bedroom Makeover {The Bed}

You know those home projects you put off because there are just too many steps?
You feel too overwhelmed to start?

So, that's been our bedroom. And it wasn't too bad to start with (which made procrastinating all that more easy). But, it wasn't great either and I knew I wanted to make some changes.

You know that old saying, "How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time." Well, how do you makeover a room? One piece of furniture, one wall, one curtain rod at a time!

The first thing we needed to do was paint our bedroom furniture. When we purchased it (about ten years ago), the color was called, "Antique White." It had a lot of creamy yellow. And I think over time, it yellowed even more.

Here's the before:

And here's the after:

It can be tough to pick the right shade of white. I wanted a white that had a little depth... something that wasn't too cool or too warm. I ended up using the Farrow and Ball color "Pointing." I think it was just right!

The white linen ruffled bedding my mom made us, is my favorite ever. You can read about it here.

And you might remember when I made the no-sew grain sack pillow. If not, you can read about that here.

What project are you tackling one step at a time? Or, what project do you need to start? Here's to taking it on little-by-little. We've got this. ;)

I'll be posting more updates to this room as they happen.

Thank you so very much for stopping by!

It means a lot to me...

  3. Painting really gave it a "facelift", didn't it? It looks so much better. I remember reading about the bedding your mom made and am still in awe about it.
