Farmhouse Style Home Office Makeover

It's official. I have completed one monthly home improvement task that I had written down in my 2018 planner: making over my home office area. Never mind that I had written it down as a "January" goal. ;)

First up was to take down three white wood shelves that were once above the computer monitor. They were here when we moved in, but looked more like they belonged in a little girl's bedroom than in this space.

I then patched and painted the walls a fresh coat of white.

Next, we hung a floating wood shelf to hold some favorite framed pictures.

We brought in a simple chair that can roll right up to the desk, which saves space in this high-traffic area of our home.

When I saw the new Jersey cows scroll from Cottonwood Shanty, I knew it would be the perfect finishing touch...

Printed on heavy, white, photography paper, "The Jerseys" scroll is even more beautiful in-person, and captures the feeling of farm living so well. It measures 3' wide by 2-3' in length (depending on how much you unroll the scroll).

A farmhouse style storage caddy, vintage file stand, greenery and vintage-inspired eggs sign helped make this home office space personalized and practical.

I'm happy with the changes, and how they blend in with the surrounding kitchen and family room.

Do you have any home improvement projects you're working on? How do you set goals for accomplishing them in your busy life? I'd love to hear what you're tackling, and any tips for getting the job done!

Thanks so much for stopping by today...
