Summer Farmhouse Family Room {The Mora on the Move...}

Happy August! We've had a nice, long stretch of summer sunshine and warmth, with temperatures in the 80s and 90s here in the Seattle area. Now I know those of you who live in places like Arizona and Texas are thinking, "You think that's hot!?" But we don't have air conditioning or a pool... So I spray my kids with the hose as they jump on the trampoline, or take them to the lake, or sit under a tree if there's even a slight breeze because it's hot inside! We've been roughing it over here, I tell ya. ;) But we dare not complain because here in the Pacific Northwest, I'll take all the sunshine we can get! The forecast is calling for cooler temperatures and even a slight chance of some showers, which our garden is hoping for...

Indoors, you'll find plants in the nesting boxes and flowers in the French market basket for summer. You'll see I couldn't part with the chunky knit blanket - I love the texture, even in summer, and it's our youngest son's favorite place to sit... right on the comfy blanket.

We were having a photo shoot here a few weeks ago, and it occurred to me that there was a "perfect" blank white wall behind the chair for our Swedish Mora Clock that had been in the hallway. So a kind editor helped me move the 1800s clock carefully across the house. (No pressure... it's only survived two+ centuries and a trip across the Atlantic!)

We love its new spot for a change! Isn't it fun when moving things around can give your house a whole new feel, and it doesn't cost a dime?

Have you found a new favorite configuration in your home? I'd love to hear!
