2019 Farmhouse Decor Roundup {Part 1}

Hi Friends! It's incredible that we're already one third of the way into 2019! How? When? Do the days seem like they're flying by for you too?! Let's just chalk it up to living really full-to-the-brim lives! :)

I'm rounding up some posts I've shared so far this year in case you missed any of them. Just click on the image or the link beneath, and it will take you to the full post!

Vintage Galvanized Planters on the Porch...

I hope you are enjoying these long, sunny and warm summer days!

You may remember when I did a similar grouping of galvanized planters on our porch a few years ago. I really enjoyed the simple farmhouse look of summer herbs and collected containers. So I did it again this summer, but changed up some of the containers since I had found a few more vintage galvanized buckets...

Lavender Season!

It's that time of year! The bees are busy... And you'll find me gazing at the lavender in the yard wondering how long I can keep it growing - because it's beautiful and I love the scent - or if I need to harvest it for drying.

New Chairs and Greenery in the Dining Room...

Did I tell you that my family gave me the rest of the Restoration Hardware dining room chairs I'd been wanting for Christmas? I love them! (My family, and the chairs.)

You might remember when I scored the first two of them at a thrift shop and was obnoxiously giddy.

Spring Flowers And An Antique Baby Scale...

Do you remember when I found this antique baby scale at a neighbor's yard sale last summer? I've enjoyed filling it with pumpkins in the fall and pine branches and bulbs in the winter. Now that spring is here, I wanted to bring a little garden goodness inside...

I chose ranunculus (because they're pretty), English lavender (for the scent) and dusty miller (the whitish plant that looks dusty - because it will fit in perfectly here ;).

Are you bringing any new plants or flowers indoors this spring?

So glad you stopped by today!

~ Vintage Ticking and Farmhouse Containers ~

Are you daydreaming of spring and planting a garden?
Of sunlight that carries a warmth with its rays? Longer days? Me too!!
(Though I am holding out hope for one more snow - - the kids love it so much!)

Since most of the yard is dead dormant,
I've been craving plants, flowers, freshness and life.

So, my son and I headed to Flower World yesterday. This time of year in the Pacific Northwest, there aren't a lot of colorful options for plants...even at Flower WORLD! (The African violets weren't speaking to me.)

We did find some nice varieties of green plants to add life to our bare porch.

But first, I wanted to show you this vintage ticking duvet cover that we added to the bench on the porch. I found the duvet while antiquing with my sister... it was love at first sight. :)

We planted these pretty succulents in an old tin feed pail...

And this rusty chicken waterer, purchased at a garage sale
 for $3, makes a sweet farmhouse-style planter.

Baby's Tears (below, in French container) in January is like clockwork for me. Granted, there are not a lot of options right now... but still, I adore this bright green little leafy plant! (Why the sad name? I'd prefer "Baby's Tears of Joy!")

 And last, a rosemary plant.

You'll notice the common thread in our plant selection was...
They're alive... and it's January. Plus, I think they're pretty!

In case you missed it and are interested, the winter wreath DIY tutorial is here.
