Sunshine and Lavender...

You may want to sit down for this.

It's 88 degrees. Outside. In April.

In Seattle.

This kind of weather warms this California transplant's heart.

Our older, 8-year-old chocolate lab is panting like we've dropped him off in the Sahara. And the puppy, let's just say the heat hasn't slowed him down in the least. ;)

My son and I ran into Costco on Saturday to pick up a pizza for a playdate, when these lovely lavender topiaries caught my eye. I planted them in some galvanized buckets in our kitchen... though I will probably move them around over time.

I've purchased these plants before and tend to enjoy them
indoors for awhile and then plant them outside.

I love the way flowers and plants bring new life
to both the indoors and outdoors this time of year.

Hope your week is off to a great start!

  1. Beautiful weather, really beautiful, and for spring in Seattle this is amazing that you get a headstart on gardening :)
The Spanish Lavender looks great in the kitchen in their buckets. I too do this at first purchase enjoying them in my kitchen until I know they would be much happier planted in the garden.

Enjoy the beauty of Seattle, and your country home.

    1. Wow! So it sounds like this was an almost national heat wave! I was born in Ann Arbor but moved to California when I was three. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you find the topiaries!

  5. They sell those bushes at my Costco too. They are so pretty! It's been hot here too. I bet you're shocked to have such hot weather this early in the year. Take advantage of it!
