So far this year at little farmstead... (Part 1)

As we head into spring, and find ourselves already in the third month of 2018, I want to thank each of you for visiting and reading along here on the blog. It really means a lot to me. I'm grateful for your comments, and also for those of you who connect with me through social media. Thank you!

New Chairs and Greenery in the Dining Room...

Did I tell you that my family gave me the rest of the Restoration Hardware dining room chairs I'd been wanting for Christmas? I love them! (My family, and the chairs.)

You might remember when I scored the first two of them at a thrift shop and was obnoxiously giddy.

Even though it's a rainy, gray Seattle day, spring is in the air! I've made just a few little changes around our farmhouse that I thought I'd share. It's only natural to nest in Spring - don't you think? 

Our family room rug had seen better days, and so our dogs are now enjoying it on the back covered porch. I'm liking the bare wood floors for a change, or until I find the perfect rug for this room. ;) I'm still loving our grain sack pillows. They add texture and character to any space, in my humble opinion. If you are in the market for some grain sacks or grain sack pillows, I posted on the best sources I've found here.

A Farmhouse Fall Hydrangea Wreath (DIY) ...

I considered making a cute acorn wreath for our front door this fall. But, there's something about the fullness and faded charm of a hydrangea wreath that I couldn't pass up! In case you're interested in making one, you only need three things...

1. Dried hydrangeas (see the best ways to dry them here!)

2. A straw wreath form 

3. Greenery pins 

Using your greenery pins, pin the hydrangea stems - one at a time - onto your straw wreath form. Continue until you have the desired fullness and/or until the straw wreath form is no longer visible.

This is the quickest and easiest wreath I've made. I also think it may be the prettiest. 

It costs about $8 to make (for the wreath form and pins). Can you imagine what you'd pay for a large wreath like this at a florist or gift shop?!
