Hi Friends! I hope you're doing well. If you're thinking that the picture below could use a big bucket of lilacs, so am I. Stay tuned... About two more months. ;) Until then, I thought I'd share some simple farmhouse details that add lots of character and charm in any season...

Farmhouse Style Master Bedroom Refresher...
Our master bedroom had been in need of some attention. It's not that I loved the two bright-yet-sun-faded green walls paired with the two sand color walls that we moved in with. (Yes, you read that right.) It's just that life happens. And I tend to focus on our living areas first, where we spend most of our time. (Do you do that too?)
But it feels so good to have freshly painted white walls, and a new wood-planked wall behind the bed...

2017 Top Ten Posts...
I want to start by saying thank you for reading our blog, and for the support you've shown us this past year. It really means so much to me! What a blessing to have this community of people who share a love for family, for home, for farmhouse design, and the simple joys of country living. It amazes me that we can be separated by miles (some of us by thousands of miles!) and still stay connected here. Turns out I am grateful for technology! And I am definitely grateful for each of you.
For the past almost four years now, I have blogged on farmhouse decorating, DIY projects, parties and gatherings, bits of our family life, mini farm living, and faith. If there are any topics you'd like to see more (or less) of here on the blog, I would love to hear about that in the comments section below. Thank you in advance for your feedback!
There will be some changes coming soon to the blog that I'm really excited about, and hope you will enjoy.
Below is a roundup of the top ten posts of 2017, based on views.
(You can read the whole posts by clicking on the pictures or links.)
1. Farmhouse Porch Ideas: Thanks to your support and a little love from Country Living, this post came in at number one! Galvanized buckets, including chicken waterers and a mop bucket, were the stars of the show.

Christmas at our Little Farmstead {2017 Roundup}
We are now into the December 20's... Ready or not, here Christmas comes! This time of year can be such a mixture of emotions. (And I think I may have had them all within the last 72 hours. Ha!) But I hope that what we hold on to most during this season (and beyond) is the joy and hope of Christmas.
Below, I've rounded up this year's Christmas and winter posts from our home and shop space. Just click on the link or picture to see the whole post. Thank you for sharing in this season with us. I hope you and your families have a very blessed Christmas!

First, More Grain Sack... Second, An Unlikely Coffee Table...
We are well into fall now, and I hope you're enjoying the season. Has it cooled off where you live? Someone flipped the switch here in the Pacific Northwest today. We went from bright, sun-shiny skies yesterday to rain today.
I'm grateful that the bright autumn shades of leaves are putting on a stunning show to compensate for the grey. It seems like there's a life lesson there - I guess it's that our attitude is shaped by what we choose to focus on...
And today we're going to notice those beautiful leaves. ;)

Grain Sack Pillows {Farmhouse Christmas Inspiration}
Last month while my husband and I were celebrating our anniversary in the city (Seattle), I came across a European vintage grain sack that made my thoughts turn toward Christmastime! The monogram, texture and patches packed a ton of character into the humble, time-worn grain sack. I couldn't wait to take it home and begin decorating for a vintage farmhouse style Christmas.

Refresh with Pillows {And An Easy Candle DIY}
Hi Friends! I hope you had a great weekend...
The other day, while my Mom and I were shopping for a vintage chandelier, I spotted two pillows that made me smile. You see, these pillows reminded me of the three young boys who have captured my heart and are growing way too fast!
