Nesting Boxes Advent

Hi there party people,

Can you feel the excitement in the air? Our boys have half days of school and then it's over the river and through the woods to grandmother's house we go! (Quite literally.)

When we get home, Christmas activities will be in full swing so I wanted to get our advent buckets up before we left...

We have had these little buckets for the last few years.
The colors were cheery and fun, but I wanted to change it up this year.

So out came my gallon of white paint with primer. My husband suggested that perhaps they sold buckets somewhere that were white already. He should've know that would've been way too easy. I like to repurpose when I can. I couldn't see paying for new buckets when I knew these could work. I didn't expect it to take three coats!

Since just recently adding the chicken nesting boxes to the family room, I have been looking forward to using the roosting bars to hang the advent buckets.
(There's a sentence I never thought I'd write.)

The buckets will be filled with little treats or notes with Christmas
activities we'll do together that day, as we count down to Christmas…

I smile as I think how children's excitement grows each
day in equal proportion to the parents' anxiety level! ;)

My sister made me the cute "Sainte Nuit" pillow.
Why does everything sound better in French?

This old snowy winter village painting is something I can't wait to bring out each year. I found it at a yard sale for $10 and just love the antique Christmas feel it adds.

Hope you have a wonderful "fallinter" day!
