A Farmhouse Christmas Tour

I'm happy to be joining a a holiday tour hosted by my friend Kelly of My Soulful Home. At the end of this post, you'll find a fun giveaway, as well as links to several more tours full of Christmas inspiration...

So glad you're here!

Here at our little farmstead, we've not only decked our halls, but also the chicken coop (above)... And some of the Christmas cheer may have spilled over into the barn! I hope you'll stop by again in the weeks to come, where I'll continue to share farmhouse Christmas decorating ideas leading up to Christmas... (Too much to share in one post!)

(Affiliate links provided below.)

If you follow along with me on Instagram, you may remember the story of how my husband pulled the truck over and climbed up the side of the mountain to get these berry branches for me after I commented on how I'd love to have some for our home! This simple entryway vignette feels very peaceful to me in our-full-of-life house (with 3 growing boys!!!). I use red stripe linen tea towels year-round, but they are especially fitting this time of year.

In our family room, a pair of antique snow shoes, tied with a wreath, hangs from a 1905 farmhouse door. A bucket of pinecones nearby adds to an outdoorsy-wintry feel that ironically makes me want to stay curled up inside...

1803 Candles are some of my favorite, and their holiday scents can't be beat!

A favorite chunky wool blanket is wrapped around the base of our family room tree. An antique European dough bowl holds pretty packages. Flash card-inspired Christmas tags add a touch of merry!

In the living room, a large scroll from Cottonwood Shanty, hangs above the mantel reminding us of the reason we celebrate...

An old turkey crate is used for a coffee table and decorated simply with an antler, vintage pinecone ornaments and a small tree.

Our porch took its inspiration from a Christmas tree farm, with small trees in vintage galvanized buckets and chicken waterers.

And the stockings were hung by the coop with care... The chickens are under strict orders - No peeking till Christmas!

  4. I enjoyed seeing your home decorated for Christmas. It is so refreshing and beautiful! I truly enjoyed the rustic and refined look that you have achieved, and not just what is in the norm. Many years ago, I fell in love with the design style of Ralph Lauren, which embodies the rustic and refined. In fact, I even decorated my baby daughter's nursery in that very style. I would have to say that this is my favorite design style.
