From the time I was a little girl (I'm guessing age four), my dad has given me a
heart-shaped box of chocolates each year for Valentine's Day.
heart-shaped box of chocolates each year for Valentine's Day.
With the red box, is always a sweet little note that simply says,
"Will you be my Valentine? Love, Dad."
Not only are my mom, sister and I blessed recipients ~
my dad now also sends them to his grandchildren.
At the tender age of five, our youngest was delighted to find his box of chocolates had a puppy and kitten on the front."I always get the cute one! I love the cute one!" he said. (And I think his big brothers are good with that. :)
Do you have a Valentine's Day tradition?

What a thoughtful father. My Aunt Hortense sent a valentine card and sometimes there would be a valentine-themed handkerchief inside. I still think of her when I see certain designs on handkerchiefs.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful dad and grandpa! Something not many men would think to do for their kids. I always give my grands a little something, but never the same thing. Happy Valentines!
